Hi, we’re Kez & Tom!
We have both loved reading as far back as we can remember. Personally, I (Kez) have devoured books since I was a young child when the mobile library, a bright yellow bus, used to stop outside my house on a weekly basis. My mum used to be amazed as I demolished up to six books a day. She wasn’t so pleased when I dropped a library book in the bath. Oops!
That love of reading led me into a career as an English teacher, with a specific focus on supporting children with SEND needs. Reading is my passion, and I want to share that passion with everyone else.
Tom is completely on board with my love of reading, and he has a TBR (to be read) stash almost as long as mine. His particular love is fantasy fiction, which he is slowly converting me to.
As a result of our shared passion, we have visited Hay-on-Wye (the UK’s book town) twice, with a further visit booked for the coming months.
Recently, Tom bought me a blind date with a book (three actually), and it ignited a spark in me as I was mesmerised by the thought and care that had gone into his gift choice and the seller’s product. His thoughtful gift was a real pick-me-up, and he knew he was on to a winner as he went one step further with a mystery book box at Christmas.
Tom has a background in data analysis and customer service, and I have worked in education for nearly 18 years. I’m currently a full-time teacher, specialising in GCSE English – hence the love of reading!
We’ve spent many a holiday and weekend visiting independent bookshops, and one of our favourite places to visit is Hay-on-Wye, the UK bookshop town.
We then set up an online bookshop, selling on both TikTok shop and Etsy and now here we are. We are both so excited to share our passion and love for books with you all, and are so thankful for the support we have already received and the lovely, warm welcomes.
